Perfect Edge Trifecta Blog Tour and Giveway Featuring a Review of Angel Falls by Michael Paul Gonzalez

About the Book - About the Author - Prizes!!!

Welcome to Novel Publicity's first ever publishing house blog tour. Join us as three new titles from Perfect Edge--we're calling them the Perfect Edge Trifecta--tour the blogosphere in a way that just can't be ignored. And, hey, we've got prizes!

It's been rough lately for the Lord of Darkness, with ex-girlfriend drama rearing its head at inconvenient moments, ancient gods returning to take over the universe, and Satan's own unstoppable laziness. But whatever.

Satan is okay, and he thinks you're okay, too. This whole eternal damnation thing is all a bit of a misunderstanding.

He runs Hell as a resort, kind of. A vacation spot. The point is, he's not a bad guy. He's trying to save Heaven and all of creation, and he only has a dimwitted giant, a surly waitress, and a monkey to help him. So, a thank you might be nice. Maybe buy him a cup of coffee next time you see him. And you will see him.

It's the Apocalypse, and all that.

Five Stars, 1 Flame

Welcome to Hell, the best place to lay around and do nothing, kick back and relax. New here? Well, let me hand out a pamphlet with FAQ on the back. It will guide you to the different areas of my little city. Enjoy your stay. We are!

Lucifer Morningstar has a bad rep above ground. but he's really a great guy! All he asked for was a promotion. I mean, nepotism is great, but he had seniority, why can't he stand at the right hand of God? Its all one big misunderstanding. Lucifer won't be in Hell long, its just a temporary take over from the ancient Aztec god and goddess of Death, a quick clean up and he'll be back in Heaven in no time.

That was when this border land was just a shantytown. Now its a sprawling city with the condemned perfectly willing to spend eternity in Hell. To get to heaven one must cross the desert, the Long Walk, carrying 13 anima crystals. These smoky, black globes contain the most important moments of your life. Somewhere along the Long Walk you must let go of your memories, good, bad, or ugly. Once you successfully cross, your soul is able to continue toward heaven. Seems pretty simple, right? Half the people who attempt the crossing come back insane. So, since the humans seem content to chill for the rest of their days, Lucifer joins them.

Until a flaming ball lands and starts screaming "She's gone! Its all over, the end is nigh!" Phaleg is an angel, Warlord and Ruler of the Order of Angels. He's also the burning man heading toward Lucifer. He brings with him a dire warning. Aspen Biltmore is a spoiled 16 year old child who wants to be reunited with her love, Lenny. Lenny is a guardian angel and Phaleg's love. In order for Aspen to be reunited with Lenny she plans on crashing through heavens gates to get to him. To accomplish this she steals 13 anima and takes the Long Walk.

But something else is going down. Someone has stolen Lucifer's anima, leaving him almost mortal. Lenny, the guardian angel, shows up in Lucifer's favorite restaurant, Garden of Eatin', with no bones and no memory of how he came to be in Hell. On top of that, a being from before time, who saw the universe created, is waking from his slumber and if he gains entrance to heaven, will start the Apocalypse. Joining Lucifer on this crazy journey is Eve, yes that Eve, Mother of All Creation; Goliath, as in David and Goliath; Lenny the bodiless angel; and Monkey, twice immortal, wicked mechanic and race car aficionado. Find Lucifer's anima, find Aspen, stop the ancient being, Yaotl, save the world. This gig is starting to sound like work!

I read the blurb for Angel Falls and thought, huh, this sounds interesting. Cover art is different, not usually what I would pick but I will give it a shot. So glad I did! I had so many laugh out loud moments! I was lucky I was at home and only my husband and kids saw me...and even they gave me weird looks. I love how Lucifer is misunderstood, he just wanted recognition for his long years working with God. How could this young upstart take his position? Lucifer's not evil, its lies, vicious lies. The book has depth to it as well, I don't want you to think its all laughs. The world is amazing, the addition of gods/goddesses from different cultures was brilliant. As the gods lost there followers they slowly fade, their powers dwindle to nothing. Looking up some of the references made in this book and trying to catch them all was half the fun. Action, adventure, mystery, Angel Falls has them all. While fast paced, I caution you to take your time reading. If you're like me, I tend to skim the sentences until an action/love/conversation scene begins. With this book though, its best to take your time so as not to miss any details. I thoroughly enjoyed Angel Falls and look forward to the next book in the series.

Perfect Edge Books was founded in late 2011 to unite authors whose books weren't "obviously" commercial. Our books tend to sit in various genres all at once: literary fiction, satire, neo-noir, sci-fi, experimental prose. We believe that literary doesn't have to mean difficult, and that difficult doesn't just mean pointless. We prefer to cultivate a word-of-mouth approach to marketing, and keep production as simple as we can. Learn more at www.PerfectEdgeBooks.com.
